This auction is for a 1968 vw beetle classic with bajakit, that has been restored. Here's a little bit of history: i was toldfrom the couple i bought it from they bought the car in arizona near californiaand their intent was to completely restore it. He started the tear down, rebuiltthe transmission, had it stripped, then some body work and painting wasdone. After painting the car, it was stored in their garage for 3+ years, coveredup. He was never able to find the time to put the bug back together and he put itup for sale. I found it online and bought it as a basket case. I went throughthe parts that came with it, kept and restored what could be restored andordered the rest. The car it self was in good shape for it's age, floor panwas in great shape. The body was not removed from the pan. From what i couldsee, there was some very light rust but no damage or rot. The vw came to me witha rebuilt trans axle and all new bushings. Note: after driving this carforapprox 150 miles, i have determined that it pops out of second gear upondeceleration. My research into thisshows it could be a bad clutch gear between2nd and 3rd gear. I have priced the car accordingly to this defect. After that,i stripped and replaced the interior, carpet, headliner. I installed one piecewindow kits, new door panels and hardware. A 1600 dual port came with it, butneeded to be rebuilt. So, i tore it all down and made a few high performance upgrades such as, i replaced all seals, new 88 mm pistons and jugs, . 010 -. 010 69mm crankshaft, changed the cam to a . 476 lift . 274 duration 10.

Time to sell my baby. Pictures tell the story. Runs absolutely perfect. Just shyof 64,000 original miles. Been in many shows lately and cruise nights. All of the damage to the body is pictured. It needs a few things tobe perfect-a new top,very minor work to the metal around the trim(it is stillrock solid). The paint is pretty old and faded in some areas. This stock is as stock as itgets. Right down to the original window sticker. They came out of my collection and aresuper rare. This caprice has been featured on numerous facebook car pages andhad a write up on jackbaruth. Com via the village green from the same author whoused to write for curbside classic. It is well known on the the tires on it including the spare are brand new. Bid to win it-i'mnot going to give it away. I don't need the money. This is a chance to owna car that still makes jaws drop when it's out in public even though itneeds minor work. Title free and clear. Please read: the "rust" issues are veryminor. The metal is still solid. There aren't any softspots. The roof is solid as well. All of the expensive parts to replace on mycar are near perfect. This is not a "junker". No rust on the underside. I livein this has been a spokane car it's whole life. Theydon't rust out here. Tom l's comments:has the original 3speed manual transmission (recently rebuilt) no clutch. Can drive in 2nd gearall the time. Controller is net gain controls 1200amp 200 volt. Motor is warp 9 with only a thousand miles on it. Dc-to-dcconverter provides regulated 13. 8 volts from high voltage. 1500 watt electricheater included in dash. Dual contactors for extra safety. Electric vacuum pumpprovides for factory power braking and 1 horsepower dc motor drives factorypower steering. Battery cells 19 and 21 willneed replacement. Small dime-sized patches of rust near side windows. In-dashradio with dvd player and pop out screen may need replacement. Body is good andclean, was a florida vehicle and garage kept in wisconsin.

I had this re-painted to the original silver in 2011(takenapart, stripped, and sandblasted). Original vynil top was removed(i never gotaround to replacing it). Excellent condition with only 3 main issues:1 - mice chewed a hole in thedrivers side of the top. I have a new fender that is ready to go on the car. Drives great but stalls at idle. I'm sure it's just a matter of a carb cleaning. Everything is solid,interior is nice, i bought it from a dealer that said they got it from theoriginal owner. Writing is still on the back window from the dealer. I'veowned it for about 5 years but i don't have the time to care for it anddrive it so it's time for it to go to a better home. It has a lot of cooladd ons that can be seen in the pictures. Back up lights, rear reflectors, europlate up front, reading light on the passenger side, vw floor mats in the back,tow hitch installed, extra lights on front bumper.
